Thanksgiving Countdown, Day 8: Talking the Talk

This one will be short and sweet!

The brother in Japan
I'm grateful that I can talk to my family, no matter where they are in the world. I can even do it face-to-face in a way, because we all have Skype and Facetime.

I've recently begun calling my brother in Japan every Sunday, just to catch up with him and see how he's doing. We have great conversations about geeky things like the new Star Wars movie and how there's no way that Luke joined the dark side. Be serious, people.

I also was able to talk to my sister and her cute kids today. My nephew, Jack, told me all about The Good Dinosaur (which, of course, he hasn't seen, because it's not out yet. But he's already decided he knows how it should go). We also talked about his dinosaur toys that have been getting into mischief every night this month; what we want to be when we grow up; and how he wants to be a zebra next Halloween (and have his mom be a zookeeper).

My daughter with my cute nieces and nephew.

I tried to call my mom, too, but she didn't answer. It's probably because she's having family dinner with the relationals. But I plan to talk to her later, and complain about how my siblings aren't all coming for Christmas this year like I thought they were. I'm kind of grumpy about it, because one of the reasons we chose to come this year was because we thought everyone would be there. I know there's nothing I can do about it, but complaining to my mom makes me feel better anyway. She's such a good listener.

Anyway, it's a great time to be alive. Technology definitely blesses us, and makes the world feel a little smaller. :)
